1. Who we are

2. Analytics and tracking

Neither Caturday nor its widget perform any analytics, usage tracking, or telemetry. No analytics SDK, crash reporter, or third-party tracking library is integrated in either target. No advertising identifiers are used or requested.

3. What data is involved

  • iCloud account context. Syncing the shared cache of curated cat photos uses Apple's CloudKit, which relies on the user being signed in to iCloud. No separate account, email, or password is created or collected by this app.
  • Locally stored photos. Cat photos are cached on device in app-group storage, alongside short-lived working folders for downloads and album imports that are cleaned up automatically. Download data is removed after 10 minutes.
  • Photo Library album, when selected. Caturday Pro can read one album you choose and convert its still images for the app and widget. The converted files stay in the local app-group container; the album is never uploaded or shared with us.
  • No user-generated data is collected. We do not collect names, emails, contacts, location, or any personal information about the person using Caturday or the widget.

4. Third-party content

The default photos originate from public posts on mastodon.social, copied into the shared cache after automated screening. A Pro user can instead display a chosen local album. See the Content & Takedown Policy for sourcing, attribution, and takedown details. This policy is about your data as an end user, not about the rights of the original photo posters.

5. Data sharing

The shared cache lives in Apple's CloudKit public database, governed by Apple's own privacy terms. A selected local album is never transmitted. We do not sell, share, or transmit user data to other third parties or ad networks.

6. Data retention

Local working folders follow the cleanup windows above. The shared cache holds a limited number of photos (currently 100); as new ones are added, the oldest are deleted, so a photo is typically gone again within days.

7. Children's privacy

Caturday is rated 4+ on the App Store and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

8. Your choices

Because no account or personal profile is created, there is no account-deletion flow to document. Uninstalling the app removes its local on-device cache.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the app evolves — for example if analytics, an account system, or new content sources are ever introduced. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
